The Loss of a Loved One...

We know how difficult preparing for and experiencing the loss of a loved one can be.
Should you find yourself in this situation please call the parish office at 815-385-4030 for assistance. For your convenience some basic information is provided below.

Please know that our sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with you and your loved ones.

Funeral and Memorial Services are held any date and time that is convenient for you and your family, please call the parish office to check availability of the church and our pastor.

Our pastor is willing to come to your location to assist with a funeral or memorial service.

Pastor does not charge to conduct a funeral or memorial service. However, it is customary to offer him an honorarium.

You are welcome to have a viewing here at the church prior to the service.

Our Fellowship Hall can be made available to you should you wish to offer light refreshments or cater in food for a luncheon.

Pastor is available for a graveside service.  You may conduct a graveside service in and of itself or immediately following a funeral service.

We ask that you, family and/or friends email us special memories of your loved one.  Pastor will incorporate these memories into the service.  Please send memories to Laura Meinhardt at as soon as you are able.

Typically, there are three readings during the service: Psalm 23, John 14:1-6 and John 11:21-27. Should you wish to have different or additional readings please just let us know and we will be more than happy to accommodate your request.

Please choose at least two hymns.
Additional music pieces may be added should you choose to do so.
